Pastries, pastries, pastries..why am I experiencing this strange attraction towards freshly-baked goodies lately? Until I find the answer to this question, I shall continue my search for some of the most delicious pastry outlets in Adelaide!!:)

d bites is a haven of food photography, my experiences at restaurants, and recipes on show for all to gawk at, drool over, and be exposed to different cuisines. This food obsession has been a growing one over the last few years, and it only makes sense to share it with family, friends and you.

By Blackbird, a new pastry and dessert cafe to add on to Adelaide’s growing list of dessert places, is owned by pastry chef – Chakey Kim who’s had baking experience at ‘Fleischer Cakes‘ and is the founder of ‘Au Matin Calme‘. Having been to Au Matin Calme before and being impressed with their desserts and hearing great things about their pastries and tarts, I knew C and I were in for a treat after our meal at the Greek on Halifax.

 

Foodie Ling

I'm Ling and I love food. Hence Foodie Ling was born. It started in 2011 as a hobby when someone suggested we ate out a lot and that I had a "golden tongue". 

By Blackbird has only recently opened in Adelaide situated in a trendy spot on King William Road in Hyde Park but it has already gained a brilliant reputation and return customers in this short space of time. This lovely place run by Jin and the pastry chef extraordinaire Chakey Kim is a perfect hang out with, in my humble opinion, brilliant decor.

 

The Ordinary Smile

​This blog started out as a personal blog, which slowly evolved into a food blog when a friend and I wrote up a list of food places in Adelaide and Melbourne that we would like to try. So far, the list keeps growing faster than we can check places off. Another thing that is also growing is my waistline.

Sash stumbled upon By Blackbird whilst googling for dessert places in Adelaide. We tried to get some friends to visit the place with us, but no one could make it The weather was gloomy and wet on the day we decided to pay the cafe a visit.
