Our story starts a little differently.  It starts with Chakey having owned and ran Au Matin Calme on Hutt St for a couple of years before deciding to fly her own wings.  Along the way, she met Jin.  He on the otherhand worked in the corporate world and longed for a little something more rewarding in life.  So after being made redundant, he decided to jump on board with Chakey and on they went 1-way trip.  First they started with a small hole in the wall cafe on King William Road, calling it By Blackbird.  Things soon blossomed and we needed an expansion and we moved to a new larger home whilst remaining on King William Road.  The team soon grew from the resulting move and we now sport 2 more in the kitchen and 2 more in the front.  Jin now manages the front of house, making all the drinks and his team greets and
